I choose not to associate with anyone that smokes, because I have asthma and it sets off my attacks, immediately. I guess if people want to kill themselves, knowingly, thats their choice.

I would like to quit - it is a very expensive dirty habit. Your clothes smell, your house smells, and the cigarette smoke makes your windows and walls dirty.

Look for pictures online of the organs of smokers. In a search engine, type "organ smoker" and look for images. The "before and after" pictures say a thousand words.

I was a smoker a long time ago and I wised up and quit cold turkey. I admit it was fun while I smoked and it kept my weight lower but I imagined how terrible my lungs would be after years of smoking. I wanted my kids to be healthy and have a healthy mom. So I quit. You are wise to stay away from cigarettes. I am one of the lucky ones who got away from their hold, but others are hung up more in the addiction and cannot quit.
I don't think me being allergic to them would help because I am already allergic to so much stuff at this point. My seasonal allergies cause hives so I am pretty much used to it.
The problem with smokers is they are rude and selfish! By that I mean they could care less who they smoke around and they litter all the time by throwing butts and ashes on the ground. Not to mention how they smell. I lost my grandpa in 2004 to lung and brain cancer even though he quit smoking 25 years before he died. I now am loosing my other grandpa to emphysema. How can someone selfishly smoke and kill themselves? It is sad to think someone could be so selfish and do that to their family. I don't take my kids to see my family much because they are rude enough to smoke around them.
