Is it safe to eat snow? or icicles?!

Question: just wondering because my youngest child was munching on it earlier and I kept telling her not to, but she insisted on it...Then I was picking my other daughter up from school and some girl was in the hallway sucking on an icicle. It just made me think if it was safe or not, I heard that it can cause dehydration, does anyone know for sure? and no "don't eat the yellow snow jokes"

Tell you the truth, I really wouldn't eat snow or icicles. You don't know if bacteria or germs had come in contact with it. If it's like, brand new, new fallen snow, then it' shouldn't be to much of a worry, but snow or icicles that's bee sitting for a day or two could have nasty germs and bacteria in it

But remember, snow and icicles are pretty much just naturally made ice

As long as it's doesn't have YELLOW SPOTS scattered around on it.

Plain snow and icicles are fine. Just as long as they aren't yellow(or any other color) or covered in dirt, they won't hurt. I used to eat those things too when I was little. It's normal.

ya when i was a kid i used to take the snow and make slushies out of it or cool aid or something. I used to chew on the ice to. I would be only worried about getting my toung stuck on the ice haha
