Is it safe for someone with lowered immunity to own pets like...?!

Question: hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, ect?

Answers: hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, ect?

Honestly i dont see a big problem. Even my brother has severe asthma and we always had pets like that. But honestly your health is most important dont go by what people say on here. Even if you just give your doctor a call, i would definitly ask him. Good luck!

I don't see why not. I would make sure I was my hands after I handle them anyway just to be safe. You could also keep a bottle of hand sanitizer near the cage so it is more convenient for you.

I think so, just as long as you make sure you wash your hands after you handle them, but then most people do anyway. I think its snakes and reptiles that you shouldn't get because they carry salmonella and loads of other diseases..

Why not? As long as they are kept clean and healthy.

I love to have pets like that because I myself am allergic to cats and dogs. If you handle them always wash your hands afterwards so you don't rub your face with the allergens.

I personally would stay away from the ferrets as they need alot more attention, petting and handling. they also don't cage well they are alot more like cats where they roam the whole room.
Hamsters and guinea pigs would be just fine as long as the cage was kept very clean, it would need to be cleaned at least once a week to keep the pet and the habitat healthier.
