Do some people have more of a predisposed tolerance to drugs than others regardl!

Question: For example, is taking 1 and a 1/2 15mg oxycodone tablets and 2 pink 0.5mg Xanax at the same time REALLY THAT bad? Some people can handle it more than others it seems.

I know of some people who would get knocked on their asses from that, but I can clean, cook, drive around town and wait tables on it even better than if I were sober and I hardly have a tolerance to opiates that strong and especially xanax.

Anyone else like this?

It depends on the person. I take 2mg of Xanax three times a day, hydrocodone and sleeping pills, and people wonder how I can function. Truth is, I barely feel them. It was like that from day one. They are prescribed, by the way.

Both the dose of oxycodone (22.5 mg) and xanax (1 mg) are low doses so it isn't surprising they don't have a huge effect on your ability to function. If you are abusing them the question would be why. If you have legitimate pain and anxiety, the fact you can take the medication and function well suggests they are dosed appropriately. But yes, some people have a genetic predisposition that increases their tolerance to certain drugs.

Yes, its in your genetics as to how much you can tolerate. Certainly tolerance can be "learned" by building it up, but to start off you are just born with it. Also, in some cases, if the mother takes several drugs while she is pregnant (even if they are prescription drugs to help her...not necessarily illegal narcotics) it goes to the baby too and could build up their tolerance from an early age.

Yes,it depends on the person and metabolism. What you are taking is a small dose and prescribed for you to where you can function on them. And it could also be genetic.
