Is my toe broken? how long to heal?!

Question: i was jumping and when i landed. i heard a crack. two days later it is hard to bend inwards, and is blue from the tip all the way into my actual foot part. is it broken? if so, how long will it take to heal? (it's the long toe next to my big one)

Been there done that. No it is not broken. If it was, trust me you would know it. Being an ex motocrosser, i,ve busted a few bones. what you did was bruised the bone. and being a toe it will take a while. It seems like every thing you do will bump it and it will frustrate the heck out of you. Try to keep it straight and bandaged up for a week or so and don,t wear tight shoes is you can. In a couple weeks it will be good as new.

Usually a badly bruised toe means it IS broken. Especially if you heard it crack when you landed. I've broken enough toes in my lifetime to know, stumble-bunny that i am. Report It

  • yes it is probably broken if you really can't walk on it...go to the hospital!!! it takes about 6 weeks to heal if it's really bad but might only take 2 at the least.

it may have a hairline fracture. The best thing to do is keep it stabilized. If going to the doctor is not an option, just don't walk a lot on it, and don't mess with it. It needs to heal in its natural position.

You could quite possible have fractured the bone ... buddy tape (tape the toe to another toe) and stick a small amount of cotton between the two toes to absorb sweat and avoid athlete's foot. See a doctor for an x-ray. Healing time is usually six weeks.

There's not much that can be done for a broken toe. I know when my dad broke his toe the doctor wrapped two of his toes together (the broken one and the one next to it). They also had him walk with a cane to keep the pressure off of it. Usually it takes 6 weeks for a broken bone to heal. I hope it feels better.
