What can be causing this pain?!
Question: I have upper/middle back pain and upper/right abdominal pain and bloating. When I pass gas occasionally it somewhat feels a bit better but then a few moments later goes back to feeling the same. I went to the ER today and they said I slept the wrong way, but they only did XRays and nothing else. I woke up with the pain. They also gave me Vicadin and even the maximum dosage of that is not relieving the pain. What are the other possible causes based on this description?

As you know, x-rays can't show soft tissue problems nor do they indicate organ malfunction. The abdominal area you refer to is where your liver is. There may be something wrong with it, especially given that you said you also have bloating.
I'd recommend you try to get an appointment with your family doctor ASAP. Make sure they understand where the pain and bloating are, and that Vicadin is not helping with the pain at all. That indicates a pretty serious pain. If it is your liver or some other organ, you may be doing more harm to it by taking the Vicadin. If it isn't helping with the pain, you'd be wise to discontinue it.
