If the pain persists overly long or if you're finding it difficult to breath enough to stay conscious, get medical attention.
If it wasn't brought on by some sort of trauma, it's not likely to be immediately life threatening.
It could be the beginning of an illness or just some transitory pain that will disappear the same way it appeared; without any warning.
