Dr. doesn't do physicals anymore?!
Question: Called to make an appointment this morning for my husband's annual physical. First thing I was asked was "what is wrong with him?" Nothing, he needs a check up. Next question, "what medications is he on?". None, he just needs a check up. Then I was told. "Dr. doesn't do just check up anymore. Your husband needs to have something wrong with him for me to schedule an appointment". WHAT??? I thought everyone was supposed to get a check up to prevent their being something wrong later. Has anyone heard of Dr.'s not doing annual check ups anymore?

I have never heard of a doctor who doesn't do an annual physical. I woud call a different doctor and ask them for one.Also it shouldn't be a billing issue because there is a coding number for physicals in their billing and coding book, CPT
It is probably a billing issue. They don't know what to bill your insurance for... Or it doesn't pay enough.
Say you want to get his cholesterol checked.
Also a good idea, have a dermatologist do a "baseline" skin check... so if any moles show up you know how old they are.
