i know many ways, what do you want?Natural, medicinal? There are many ways;...
A warm glass of milk with honey(releases sleepy triptophans to brain)a piece of toast with cheese on it has the same effect...even a banana(before bed,all meant to help)
Then you could try raspberry leaf tea(also good for menstrual aches)
Tea CHAMOMILE(made with flowers),is an excellent as a bed time drink.(normal tea with fresh slice ginger&honey)
DILL TEA(made with crushed seeds):works as a mild
tranqueliser&sleep inducer
ROSEMARY TEA(fresh leaves)improves memory&as a bed time drink
ANGELICA TEA(fresh leaves)perfect before sleep.
VALERIAN(from health food store)is excellent, like natures sleeping pill.
You could try light exercise,yoga/pilates/walk,although you need to do this a few hours before bed.Exercising before bed will have the opposite effect.
AROMATHEREPY,quiet spot,candles,incencse/oil,soft/no light,mellow music/eminant sounds,whale song/instruments or just nice&silenty....MEDITATE
Reading always works(for me)
Well about the puffy eyes in the morning,do you drink tea?make tea&put tea bags(need two)in freezer while you shower/brush,drink tea(whatever)when done&nearing time to get ready(if wearing make up)get tea bags&place one over each closed eye&lay/sit(relax)10-20mins(as long as you have)then remove, moisturise&make up/dress as usual. The puffy/swelling will be reduced(maybe gone!)there are active ingredients in the TANINS of tea, that sooth7help with irritations ect(allergy eye sufferers first/quick aid)as you know this works with cucumber also,it really does work.
THYME TEA(fresh&dried leaves)is used for tension headaches&OVERTIREDNESS&FENNEL TEA(made with crushed seeds/steep&strain)soak cotton wool balls into it(cool tea)&dab on tired eyes!Picks them up.
LAVANDER,in any form(burn oil,fresh)place lavander under pillow,always known for sleep inducing.Make a little sachet of dried/fresh lavander&smell it....
Herbs&natural foods/plants can be amazing if learnt&correctly used, these simple herbs can be as effective as any valium, temazapam, serapax ect,but if nothing helps then see a GP,sleep is important&many, many reasons can affect it(insomniac for a long time)
Also bear in mind that our metabolism&the amount of physical stuff we do in a day has huge bearing on how much/little sleep you really do NEED.Many people sleep more than they should for their body type, but follow statistics...&well you know what happens next.So bottom line listen to your body....
I grow all these herbs in my garden, but they can all be bought at a health shop(fresh is best)buy plant&grow/use it(make all food taste awesome to!)
Well it's 3:20am&i shall try to sleep, have to be up at 6am!Just going to nip to Macca's first...HEY,you could always try a drive, see if it helps...GOOD NIGHT
I used to be like that.
first off you shud get more fresh air during the day, by doing this you will be refreshing your body and getting a clear head.
secondly 1 hour before u go to sleep, make sure u dont use any mobile phones, games consoles etc as this effects ur brain and ul not be able to sleep
finally before u go to sleep get all the thoughts out of ur head. I know its difficult but thats whats preventing you from a nice sleep. when we go to bed, because its so comfortable, we immediately think of things.
hope i helped =]
happy snoozing
you need to set up a rutain to go to sleep 1st don't lay in your bed unless your trying to sleep. right before you go to sleep take a shower with out a radio or tv on. then lay down with out the radio on or something relaxing. do it a few days in a row and your body will know after you shower at night that it's time to go to sleep. samething with laying down in your bed.
Have a bath with lavander or sandlewood perfumed candles around,wear a light and loose clothes(pyjama,etc)drink a warm tea,read a lousy book.I tried this way...good luck.(one more thing;send your mother-in-law away,,,hehe,,joked)
Just sleep early. It takes about a week to develop a habit. Get about 8 hours and you should be good. At nights, read a book and as you feel your eyes getting heavier, knock out!
