Hardcore hick-ups????????!
Question: so i ahve heard of somthing called harcore hick-ups and this lady couldnt stop for like a few days!! Well anyways my dad has been hick-upping on and off for the past few days and he went to the doctor and got some pills that dont work!! i am getting really tired of hearing it though because they are some loud hick-ups!! he has triend just about every method there is to get rid of them though!! why do you think he is doing this?? and when is it gonna stop?

He is not doing this on purpose. Hiccups are an unintentional
contraction of the diaphragm; the muscle that separates the stomach from the throat & is involved in breathing. If you think it's bad for you ...multiply it 50X..& that's how bad it is for your dad.
He should call the MD & get a different medication...there are several that are used for hiccups. He should also get examined because sometimes there is an underlying cause.
If they last very long they can be serious.
There was a teenager on TV who had hiccups for a few months!

I prescribe thorazine 10 - 25mg for refractory hiccups, but not before performing a thorough physical examination and work-up. Sometimes the hiccups may be a sign of a bigger problem.
i would suspect it may be a dietary issue and you should try and modify that
Since hic-ups are a spasm and they are lasting so long, he needs to be eval again. It may be due to other reasons. Rather than be irritated with him, be more sympathetic, try to consider how he feels. It is not only irritating to him, it disrupts his life and frankly it is painful after so long. I hope they stop soon for all involved.
