Nightmarish deja vu that causes stomach pain?!

Question: I have just started getting these nightmarish deja vu episodes for the first time today. They hit me anywhere at anytime. The few seconds before they happen it feels as if I'm in a dream and a "nothing is real, or is it?" kinda feeling (very strange feelings), then I get this very distinct feeling of memory- a dream? something that really happened? Idk! As this is happening, i suddenly get a sense of fear that sets my stomach curdling with intense pain.

It scares me because i had about ten episodes just last night that woke me up, and were followed by a horrible stomach ache. I had three during the day that left me really dizzy, and with the horrible stomach aches.

I was taken off the anti-depressant Lexapro, steadily, this past November, and I suffer from a severe depression that is pretty under control right now. Is this some kind of problem that could be caused by withdrawal or depression? is it just an anxiety attack? Will it cause any problems?

wow i went through the same thing and they started out exactly how you described them and they slowly got worse and worse till they would actually make me drool and my lip twitch then i feel like out of this world and weird for the next few days. i went to a doctor and he said they were seizures (yet all my E.E.G. showed no irregular brain waves even while i had the episodes) he put me on anti seizures, made it even worse. i went to another doctor and they said it could be lyme disease, was on 400mg of doxycycline for a whole year! still nothing. after about two years of these episodes i Finally;;y went to Columbia new york Presbyterian hospital and the neurologist diagnosed it as either vertebro basilar migraines (very rare migraine that cause no headache just makes brain zone out and feel out of sorts, eventually;y they can look like a seizure) or cataplexy, both need the same medicine to cure. he started me on a low dose of medicine till it would go away, each time i have an episode he ups it 25mg each time it is getting more and more mild (it's about time) so i am finally seeing the light and they're almost gone. if you need any more questions or answers please ask me i was there and they on;y get worse from where your at unless you get the right diagnosis... Also right before they happened did you get this aura like 10 seconds before it happened that felt weird and after did you get depersonalization (look it up on wikipedia to get the meaning)

You need to discuss this with a Dr. Asking for advice from strangers is NOT a very good idea. Best of luck to you

Geez, honey. I dunno. I have deja vu's too, but not like that! See a Phsyc. I'm worried. Keep me updated, i'll pray for you!

You should go to your doctor and talk about the symptoms, evidently they bother you. It appears to be related to your depression. Ideally, your doctor should be a psychiatrist, so that the remote possibility of this being actually caused by a physical problem in your stomach can be checked out Good luck!
