Why do we fart?!

Question: Does it mean your food is digesting wrong? I heard that if it moves slow, it causes you to pass gas or something.

no, farting helps your body digest your food.

When we eat, we also swallow air. Also, when the food gets digested in the intestines, gas is produced. These gases when passed out through the intestine from the anus into the air are called farts. The gases that make farts smell bad contain ammonia and hydrogen sulfide which are made in the intestine.

maybe ...I think if someones eat too much and they will fort

Funny you should ask fellow brownie maker. Someone beat you to it....

We must expel the methane gas from our system, otherwise, we would swell up and be in severe pain. And of course, we like to p'ss everyone off.

My husband tells you farts are caused by a bubble in our butts that when released thru a process that starts when we are thinking. He has not been able to think them away by the way.

No it doesn't mean your food is digesting wrong. Your lower intestine is covered with bacteria (it's the good kind of bacteria though). These bacteria digest insoluble fiber (because our bodies can't digest this material by itself). A by-product of this digestion is a gas. This gas is released via flatulance.

It's completely normal and healthy.

just meant there is a lot of $h!t in your stomach, and with the temperature / chemical reaction effect, it produces methane gas +CO2.

It is normal for animals to fart, don't you worry.

cuz farting is awesome

Too much gas in the digestive system and it comes out two ways. One is through the mouth as burp and the other through the rectum as fart.

beans beans
the musical fruit
the more ya eat
the more ya toot
the more ya toot
the more ya play
so lets eat beans
every day!

it is normal for you to toot 12 times a day. if you don't you will have a big belly ache!!! and the bloat is for the goat!

Certain foods can cause gas naturally. It's different for all people. Some get gas more than others. Swollowing air such as when eating too fast can cause gas. Chewing gum, drinking through a straw and smoking can cause gas because it lets extra air in your stomach.
Every person is affected by foods differently, but foods that commonly cause gas are:
Asparagus
Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Corn
Fructose
Lactose
Potatoes
Sorbitol
Wheat
