Dear Saule,

Its time to go to the doctor. Uristat and cranberry juice are not going to do it and the fact that you're now experiencing symptoms of fatigue and dizziness is indicative that the infection is spreading. Hopefully its still only confined to your urinary tract, but left untreated, it could very easily turn into Sepsis, which is basically having a systemic infection in your blood and organ systems. This is NOT something you want to take casually. Not to alarm you, but people die from sepsis. You have to get to the doctor. You can drink all the cranberry juice in the world and its not going to make a bit of difference and Uristat is NOT a medication. Its simply used to relieve some of the discomfort associated with a bladder infection but does nothing to treat it.

I saw in one of the above answers that someone suggested you be put on Bactrim. Whatever you do, DO NOT and I mean DO NOT let them put you on Bactrim. Its a HORRIBLE drug and has caused more problems than you can imagine. Believe me, I just experienced this first hand a couple of weeks ago when I was placed on it for pneumonia. Within a week a huge burn, yes BURN appeared on my chest. It was red, raw, and oozing, and when I touched it my skin was slipping off in my hand. I was in so much pain! I researched it in my medical journals and found that there is a reaction some people have with it called Steven's Johnson Syndrome. In many cases if not caught early it can cover the entire body and 50% of people DIE from it! I was mortified. They say when you suffer from this you have to go immediately to the hospital and you are NOT treated in the regular ER. You are sent to a burn unit. Most people die from it because the burnt skin is sucking up all the moisture from inside the body to bring it to the skin. There is no cure for it, it can only be treated symptomatically. There are lawsuits galore going on with this drug. Thank God I have a medical background and was able to treat myself. But I was really scared and in horrible pain. That medication shoulds be banned EVERYWHERE! Its deadly. If you need medication they can just put you on a simple penicillin such as amoxicillin, ampicillin or Cipro and these will take care of it. And remember to take ALL of it even if you start feeling better because if you don't, the infectious bacteria will stay dormant in your body and become used to the antibiotic, so when it acts up again your body won't respond as well to it.

Hope this helps somewhat. If you should need more help, feel free to IM or email me. Good luck to you!

Luv,
Marea

Sounds like you are treating yourself with over the counter remedies. Only a Physician can treat you and you need antibiotics such as Bactrim or Macrodantin.
If you dont use them then you can have some pretty bad extensive involvement in the Kidneys and such.
'Nuff said

Well if the over the counter stuff isn't working you need to go on to the Dr. Leaving it untreated can cause even more problems. You don't have to drink straight cranberry juice...you can do the mixes....I like to mix cranberry juice with the white grape and peach......Helps me drink a lot more of the cranberry juice.

have you seen a doctor,,,not sure in my mind if uristat is a presecription drug or not, but if it isnt' you do need to see a doctor. Urinary tract infections are not pleasant, and can move up into the urinary tract as far as the kidneys. drink lots of water/cranberry juice and stay away from sugary foods, and wash down there with plain soap and water until you see the doctor.

Self medication isn't a good thing. Nobody can do it well. Even if you are a successful professional of the field, still you should see another professional.
