Is it possible to be sick and not even feel it, and can our bodies fight multipl!

Question: People always assume when they're sick that they have one thing, can our bodies have many illnesses at one time? For example, can you have two/three different colds in your system at the same time, and also have something else, like an std, herpes, hiv, cancer, a stomach problem, (the list goes on).

If so, how do our bodies handle this without dying? lol.

Can our bodies fight all of these things at once?

If our bodies can't handle this what happens, we just go unconscious and die? Or do we just get 100X sicker than normal and end up in the ER?

How do you know when you're REALLY healthy and when you're not, if our bodies are constantly fighting off foreign invaders?

What is the measure of health really? Is it totally subjective?

Also, aside from HIV and cancer, and other non-curable illnesses, if we ever feeld deathly sick and it's not one of the above, do we ultimately always go back to 100% like we were before we got sick, or never that great?

Thanks!

It is possible to have a disease and not even know it (i.e. you can be a carrier of a certain virus, but never become symptomatic.) As for how your body fights off other diseases at the same time, I'm not sure. But health is not an easy thing to quantify. It is very subjective and encompasses both physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease.

My husband had cancer and did not know it. He is gone now.

wow! that was long. I think it all depends on the number of illnesses and how severe they are. In an extreme case you die very soon. As for do we completely recover, again, it probably depends on the illness. From some you never recover completely. And yes, it is possible that there's an illness going on and you don't notice it for some reason.
