Painful urination w/ some blood, but it's the worst after I wake up?!

Question: About 3 days ago, I started having a burning feeling every time I urinated. I've had UTI's a couple times before so I automatically started drinking lots of fluids. I hadn't consumed many fluids prior to the pain, so maybe that's my problem? Anyways, even after urinating more than 8 times in one day, the problem still exists. There's a strong odor to my urine, but it's only there after I wake up. As the day goes on, it just burns and blood is sometimes present. Could it just be that my body's taking a lot of time to recover or could I have a more serious problem with my kidneys?

Unfortunately, at this stage of your UTI, you need medical treatment. You need to see your Doc ASAP to be evaluated. You need an antibiotic and maybe even a urinary " antiseptic" which numbs the bladder to reduce the pain. UTI's can lead to a kidney infection, quite serious. If you do not have a Primary Doc, go to the ER. Continue with drinking plenty of liquids, water and cranberry juice. If you dislike the taste of cran. juice, you can purchase CranTabs, which are found in the herbal supplement aisle in your local pharmacy or Walmart. You can also purchase an over-the-counter urinary antiseptic called Uristat ( this will turn your urine bright orange). Please, seek medical attention. I have personally experience 2 kidney infections, the last one was quite serious, close to being life-threatening. I hope that this is helpful. Here's a web about Uristat:

Any time there is blood in your urine, you should call your doctor.

You still have a UTI and you must see to doctor for evaluation. You are correct to worry about it going to your kidneys. For future reference, always see the doc at the first signs of a UTI. Home care is only appropriate when you're trying to prevent a UTI. Once you have one, you must see a doc ASAP.

Blood in urine is an ominous (bad) sign, as it indicates that your infection is getting more complicated and closer to your kidneys.

Call your doctor, you'll find better answer there than on Yahoo! Answers.

Please go to your doctor. This needs treatment.

Seriously, go to doctor...don't wait..
