Heart STOPPED?!?!

Question: My friend is bulimic and anorexic, she has leukemia, and about 2 days ago her kidneys gave out and she was put on dialysis this morning she went into surgery and I got word that her heart had stopped. I know it wasn't intentionally stopped... But I was wondering what they did for it. Do they stop surgery for something like that? Are they going to put her in ICU? And what are the chances that she wont make it? I know its kind of hard to tell but any information would help.

I read what you wrote and sat here and prayed for your very sick friend I know you must be very worried about her. I was in bad shape last May 2007 and my heart stopped three times and they had to shock me to get it working again' When they "'shock" you they use paddles that send electrodes through your heart to get it working again. It happens to alot of people. Some make it and some don't it depends on whether the Lord takes her home or whether she remains here like i am to help people. I was a goner they told my family but I pulled through and I am sure your friend will too. Just pray that the Lord will do whats best for her!

hey heart stopped because it is all too much for her body. Dont be suprised if she goes in her sleep

hey, it probably all is a bit much for her body as the eating disorders tend to shut down the body gradually, however the doctors will know what they are doing so dont worry. As for her heart stopping, she probably had a cardiac arrest but they obviously suceeded in bringing her back. She may well be admitted to ICU but whatever ward she is put onto she will be looked after well but will probably be hospitalised for a while. The doctors and nurses are trained to look after her so try not to worry though i know its difficult.

From what I understand, they do stop the heart for open heart surgery, but if they're saying that her heart had stopped, then I don't think it was intentional. But, sometimes that does happen during surgery, so it doesn't mean that she's going to die.
