What should I be eating?!

Question: I got sick last Monday in the morning, vomiting until the afternoon. I was feeling nauseously until thursday, but my stomach stills feels strange, I'm not hungry. I haven't eaten anything since last sunday, other than a piece of toast on wednesday and have just been drinking fluids. I'm not hungry but I feel as though I should be eating by now. Should I eat even though I'm not hungry? If so, what?

Bland stuff is the best.
A BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, dry toast) is prescribed in hospitals for patients once they are allowed to eat solids after surgery, or if experiencing nausea. A scrambled egg or two will supply a bit of the protein you've not been eating.
A trick you can try is drinking regular ginger ale (not diet). The ginger will settle your stomach, and the sugar will stimulate your appetite.

It is good if you keep eating dry toast to absorb stomach acid. You can get your nutrients from fluids. When you feel better then you can eat normally again.

The most important thing is to keep drinking, you don't want to get dehydrated. I would stick to things like toast, crackers, popcorn....maybe even a Peanut Butter Sandwich so you can get some protein in your system.
Good Luck, I hope you feel better soon! :)

Chicken soup! Its hot and soothing, and will give you so many nutrients, minerals as well as protein. It is also very palateable when you're feeling nauseous. There is a reason that this is an old remedy that everyone still uses!
