Can I get the flu shot?!

Question: Everyone tells me I should get the flu shot. But my aunt who's a pharmacist says I can't. I'm allergic to a lot of things including eggs. )Not as bad as a peanut allergy, but I do get all swollen and rashy) I think that's how they manufacture the flu shot right? I really want the flu shot, but if I can't are there other ways?

are you in an "at risk" category?
anyone who is allergic to eggs should be skin tested to the flu vaccine. If the skin test is positive, the severity of the reaction should be weighed against the risks and benefits. If you still decide to have the shot, it can be done in your allergist's office, where emergency treatment can be provided if necessary. Note that vaccine preparations are widely varied with significant differences in the amount of egg protein in different batches.

hey miss pharmacy student don't give out duff info.
This is from the FDA
FluMist should not be administered to anyone with asthma or to children under the age of 5 years with recurrent wheezing because of the potential for increased wheezing after receiving the vaccine. People who are allergic to any of FluMist
