Of course not, the medical field needs all the help it can get, no matter what your gender is. I applaud you for going into such an honorable profession.
I've worked with several male nurses and they were wonderful caregivers. Do what makes you happy and to flip with what anyone else thinks. I truly hope this isn't sexist but working with a male nurse is a really good thing when you need help lifting.

of course not - if you're good at it, why not? besides there is good money in it, and doesn't matter where you live or how the economy is, there will always be nursing jobs
It's a lot less atypical than it was. It's a very respectable profession, pays well, and since there's a nursing shortage it's a win-win situation. If anyone has a problem with it, it's THEIR problem. Go for it!

Its a vocation, i.e. the best do it because they really want to care for the sick, rather than just for money
there are many male nurses in every hospital, but not as many as females
on that note, theres an advantage !
