Subjecting your vocal chords to smoke regularly will have an effect on them. Since everybody's body is different, though, it'll be a different effect on each person.

Maybe Boyd uses a vaporizer, or maybe he doesn't smoke as much as you think.

it affects the vocal cords....just like any other irritant would....some ppl can pull it off for a while but in time they may need surgery as a lot of smokers develop nodes on their vocal cords...it's relative to how much you smoke and how rotten your luck is....

i guess the question is ...how much inhancement is done to his voice on their recordings? My guess is that it's more than
they used in past recordings. If you're worried about it, mabe you should stop, or you can keep smokin and find out for yourself later on.

Smoking "anything" affects your singing. It actually changes ones voice permanently over time. Have you ever spoken to a long term smoker and heard the rasp in their voice?
Anyway, my ex was a huge marijuana user...and I hated it.
Over the course of our relationship, I watched a very attractive, highly intelligent man, turn into one who couldn't remember anything of importance, and also one who I fell totally out of love with because of his addiction. I'm just glad its over...For all you pot heads out there, there comes a price for wanting to get high...some people pay that price right away, while others have to wait years to see what that outcome will be. It really is sad to me.
