I have a question about blood types?!

Question: I recently donated blood at my job and request to know my blood type. So when i got it back it said I am 0+ ...now my mom said that she is A- and my father is A +. Is it possible for me to be 0+ or could they have made a mistake?

Yes it is possible. Blood type is determined by two alleles, one from your mom, one from your dad. The alleles are either:
- [I a]- if present you get A type blood
- [I b] -if present you get B type blood
- [I] - you have to get two of these to get type O blood. If either [I a] or [I b] is present, then it'll be dominant over this allele.

You're parents both probably had [Ia,I] as their gene, and they might have both given you the [I] allele, so your gene would be [I,I] giving you O-type blood

Yes, its very possible, it completly varrries, yours is god, its the most compatable with people.
