Is it true that you can get arthritis in your knees if you wear shorts in winter!

Question: I play softball, and when I go out on the feild, my legs get warm when I run and do stuff, so I wear shorts mostly. But, some people have told me, that if your knees are exposed to cold air a lot, you can have knee trouble and arthritis when you get older. I'm just wondering if that's actually true.

I think coldness can hurt your joints if you are exposed to it for a long period.

If that is the case, then all those retired hockey players should be arthritic by now.

Exposure to cold temperature does not cause arthritis. Exposure to cold temperature makes arthritis flare up.

Causes of arthritis could be: age, weight, previous injury to the affected joint, heredity.

No, no it depends on age. Old persons whose body becomes agile are prone to be affected with arthritis.

No alot of Arthritis is hereditary and some comes about from wear and tear .. Cold can tense you up a bit
