What should i do for me not to doze off at work?!


Question: I am working graveyard shift and i can't help not to doze off at work. I am able to sleep 5-8hrs a day its during work that i fell asleep. Do you happen to have any suggestion for me to do not to fall asleep at work? they said i should drink coffee or any caffeinated drink but that does not help at all.

Provided that you're getting enough sleep (7 to 9 hours), being dehydrated is one of the highest causes of fatigue. Drink water (not soda or coffee).

When I'm tired at work, I jump down and do 10 push-ups to get my heart rate up. This helps get oxegen to my brain and be able to think clearer and wake up.

have an energy drink like redbull.

take caffeine pills from a pharmacy; they really help.
i used to take them for finals during college and they worked just like coffee, but without the gross taste, lol.

If you're going to do caffeine, take a caffeine tab before going to work. Otherwise avoid the caffinated stuff, as whether coffee or sodas, they're mostly diuretics.
Eat light while on shift, and sleep well while at home.
Keep busy, and if necessary, do "make work" projects to keep you stimulated. (i.e.: Extra patrols if you work Security.)

Finally, and this is the hardest to do, KEEP your days straight...as tempting as it is, go to sleep at the same time, even on your days off.

To make this easier, go to sleep around 11am every day, and sleep until 6-7pm. If you're going to go out with friends, make sure it doesn't include booze or activities that would over tire you.

get some fresh air every now and then,have some coffee,sing a song.....it really depends what kind of work you do...

Split your sleep into 2 halves a 2 hour nap prior to work

Keep yourself busy. Since I am not sure what kind of duties your job entails, I cannot give you specifics so I will have to give you general ideas that may or may not work in your environment. You could...chat online with people to keep your mind active, read an exciting book, listen to upbeat music, walk around for a few minutes every 30 minutes, keep the lights on bright, keep the room cool, drink cold water, write stories, draw, do ANYTHING that gets your mind going so you body will feel awake and alert. Moving around is the best thing to do. Just some ideas.

well my suggestion for you is simple!
they say if you cant defeat your enemies join them, in this case since your enemy is yourself, then try to take a nap during work during your breaks. it helps out trust me. it works. i did it maybe you already saw me sleeping in the couch at the office
