Magnesium sulfate before Colonoscopy????!

Question: Mag sulfate is a laxative to clean the bowel prior to the procedure.

Answers: Mag sulfate is a laxative to clean the bowel prior to the procedure.

My guess is electrolyte replacement due to your colon prep for the procedure. When it makes you have so many liquid stools, you also loose important electrolytes in the process.
