Why do i so often feel ill when i eat?!

Question: almost always.

after i eat, even a SMALL bowl of cereal, i feel sick...it's like my stomach dosn't want to have food at all.

dinner can be the worst...because i'm forsed to eat a relitivly large meal.

I'll admit, i've got issues. I'm not happy with my body, and i still see portion sizes a little funky(what seems fine to me, people say i don't eat enough. a 'normal' size seems huge to me). But i don't understand why i can't eat w/o feeling ill.

and absolutly do not sugest 'stop eating', because that is wat i want to freakin fix. i don't want to starve anymore. i don't want to loose weight really....

OK, it sounds like a a problem in your mind being taken out on your body, but there's a chance that you could have IBS, because that can often cause nausea (but not sickness) after eating. But that's unlikely. What might be a better idea, to ease your self into the whole portion thing, is to eat little and often. Have 6 mini-meals a day with snacking, instead of three big ones. Shakes are also useful because you can take a long time with them. If you have any TV shows you like that are half an hour or an hour, have a shake with them, that way, the show will help distract you from the fact that you're eating, thus helping you ease in. And really pack the shakes with good stuff. Peanut butter (the no added salt or sugar kind) and/or silken tofu for protein, put some bananas or and other fruit in there, yogurt, even oats and/or wheat germ is really good, very tasty. Add some honey if it's not sweet enough. There whole books and websites dedicated to shake recipes, you'll find a way :). We know you can do it, rahhh!!!!!!!! lol, good luck, hun.

You need to see a DR. Get your thyroid checked and your blood sugar. These are the 2 reasons why I used to get sick when I ate. It doesnt matter how much food sometimes just a bite would make me nauseous.

You could have some digestive problems like collitis. But, it could also be psycological. You should make an appoinment with your primary care doctor and discuss this with him/her. Anything that disrupts an important function like eating should be addressed sooner rather than later. Even if it turns out to be nothing, you'll be much happier knowing that for a fact. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

If you are in australia go to www.naturalw8loss4u.info. This is a healthy meal plan which cleanses your body and also has anti fungal and bacterial products which help with digestion. My boyfriend used to feel sick after eating and since using these products, his symptoms have disappeared. I'm not necessarily a believer in herbal medicine, but they told us these products put the friendly bacteria back into your digestive system which helps get the food through properly. He also sleeps better. They do seem to work, so give it a go. They do offer a 30 day money back guarantee as well. (You must be in Australia) www.naturalw8loss4u.info.

Hmm, you could a a gastrointestinal related problem. Assuming you have no eating disorders, I'm thinking you might have a minor ulcer. When you eat even a little, it could cause an ill feeling in the stomach, such as nausea.

Ask your doctor. If that really is the case, a prescription for a PPI (Proton pump Inhibitor) should help. It's used to treat ulcers, acid reflux, and other gastric related things. Prilosec is an example.

I'm having the same problem.. I finally went to the doctor and it was my Gall Bladder.. Anything I ate went right through me.. I had all kinds of testing done and I'm having surgery next Tuesday.. This was my opinion when I first read your letter but, could there be a possibility your pregnant? First take a pregnancy test then if thats negative call your doctor and have them do an ultra sound on your Gall Bladder..
Good luck

Sometimes stress can reduce your appetite.

You could have developed a food allergy to something really common that you are having with every meal..like to milk or wheat. These are found in nearly everything. You can suddenly develop an allergy at any age (even if you've never had problems before)

See a doctor and tell him of your symptoms, they can test you for food sensitivities.
