How can I get a temp to go down????!

Question: That seem high. I would consult with a doctor right away. They may want to see the patient. Sometimes they put cold compresses on you to bring down the temperature, or have you lie in a cool bath.

tylenol 2 tabs every four hours, or a tepid bath or shower.

drink lots of room temperature water.....when u have a fever u get really dehydrated.

For an adult or for a child? The answer is critical!

Get him or her drunk.

sorry thought u meant tempory worker and go down as is "going down".

prolly by drinking plenty of water. you dont want to cool the room to much or the person might get the cold sweats or the chills.

First, make sure that you have an accurate reading. The most accurate readings can be obtained rectally or orally (in the mouth) For a child, anything over 104.0 degrees can be potentially dangerous. Also consider that ones temperature will generally rise at night. For both an adult and child, it is critical that they stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water as a fever will cause dehydration. A tepid bath is best, followed by cool compresses. Tylenol can be take every four hours. I'd suggest that a doctor be consulted if there are complications getting the fever down. Fever is generally a sign of infection or an alergic reaction.

Why do you want to make the temperature go down?

I know that it is uncomfortable, especially for a child, but the body raises its temperature for a reason. You need to find out why the temperature is high.

The body raises its temperature to fight an infection or bacterial illness. Even if you have a cut or abrasion, you will notice that the area around that is hotter. The higher temp helps the body kill the bacteria.

So if you force the temperature down, the body has a harder job to kill the bacteria. Unless it gets dangerously high, it is better to let it run its course.
