Depression answer?!

Question: woke up this morning super depessed. Got up and fixed my coffee, and couldn't throw the feeling. After I sat there thur a pot of coffee I smelled a slight smell of propane and on checking it out found my pilots had gone out. Fixed the situation and opened a window, and after about an hour depression went away. My question is the gas the source of my depression or is it just a coinsonence

The propane gas can asphyxiate you and you could have been slowly being deprived of oxygen making you seem depressed in the morning. Don't let your pilot lights go out.

According to TAPS, yes, it can be

Monday was officially the most depressing day of the year. Gloomy weather, lack of daylight, everyone considering how much weight they've put on over Christmas, and a long way to go before any holidays all ads up.

The good news is that the low energy bulbs everyone is pushing give out more UV than standard filament bulbs, so help a bit.

I think it was a coincidence with the gas. Physical excercise can snap you out of a down patch, so try taking a longer walk than usual or something similar.

Yes, the gas being there will deprive you of oxygen, and make you have the feeling of depression, even though you are not depressed.

Depression is a funny thing in that it sneaks up on you. It manifests itself in different forms for different people. You seem to have had a close call with the gas though. Inhaling any poisoness substance for a time can reak havoc on your systems, get yourself a carbon monoxide detector to prevent future accidents, and get outside in the sunshine and get some fresh air and exercise. If you don't feel better then, seek out some professional advice.
