GAD,, or Generalized Anxiety Disorder, there usually is no reason, and you just feel it overtakes you, many find an equally damaging activity to make it go away. For you it is cutting, for me it was drinking, for others it is deadly illegal drugs. But the root of your problem is physiological, in your brain chemistry,, see your doctor, there are many anti anxiety medications that can help if you give them time.

Good Luck, and stop cutting ...

Some times in our lives we all may have what is known as a panic attack. You feel anxious, feel like you can't breath etc. Try talking to your dr. about this as they may be able to prescribe a mild anti-depressant medication. Some time I get panic attacks when I think about the mall or the grocery store, I take half a pill about 30 minutes before going that by time I get there I am ok... Your dr. will help. Good Luck

You might have anxiety and have to take medications for it.

go to a doctor. ^^

you also might have a slight case of depression

Try to think about positive things, remember beautiful events you experienced.
Try to find someone you trust, and talk with him about your feelings

sounds like you suffer from panic attacks which causes *overwhelming* anxiety. you're probably suffering from some kind of stress or maybe some kind of relationship problems that you can't resolve. cutting seems to give you a sense of control in your life. *please* don't hurt yourself...you need to find a friend, parent, school counselor and/or doctor that you trust to so that you can talk and get things off your chest.

About 5 years ago I had a serious panic attack. My heart bumped away like a machine gun going off. I thought i was having a heart attack. The ambulance took me to the hospital and the diagnosis was a severe panic attack. They said it was due to stress and worry.. I laughed at them and told them I don't worry about anything, that cant be correct. They then told me that deep down I was anxious and there is no reason for this. I was put on a mild tranquilizer and after a few months I was recovering from these feelings so I stopped taking them. Now when I feel slightly anxious I chop a tablet into 4 and take 1 quarter, That does the trick. Go see your doc and explain your feelings to him. Don't worry about this as it can make you feel worse. Thousands of people get panic attacks every day, your not on your own.
