Yes it does - it upsets the body's natural balance with the toxins in the smoke. Both internally (by breathing the smoke in) and externally (by the smoke landing on the skin itself).

EDIT - BUT we're ALL different, I've never gotten acne from smoking - for the guy to list an unoriginal thought aka copy & paste (leave the link next time) I think Lewis Black said it best on his "Black on Broadway" tour - "what may kill you may not kill the person next to you" as we have allergies, headaches from certain smells, etc...
I'm on the pacth now - 5 days in, it's a b*tch to quit and it is amazing how easy it was to start, but not to quit = if you haven't been doing it long - quit now while you can...

yes it does anything that you do around your face can cause acne because its germs eating will cause acne
I dont know about just smoking, but whenever i would go out and drink with my friends we would smoke as well and the next couple days i would start to break out and then my mom would know what i had been up to. So the combination of the two made me break out. That was when i was in high school it doesnt do that anymore. I dont smoke any more though

I don't think smoking causes acne, but it does cause an empty wallet and unsightly butts in your garden...and .....
It depends on you susceptible you are in getting acne. My friend got acne by smoking.
My other friend never smoked and never got acne until she started working at a nail salon. The chemicals at the nail salon made her skin break out like crazy.
Well! look on it this way. If you detox the rubbish inside you tends to leak out of your skin. Well maybe thats what happens to some people when they smoke
