When you take a kids temp under the arm do you add 1 degree?!

Question: The thermometer reads 103.4, so her temp would be 104.4.
I think I better stick her in a luke warm tub!! My husband gave her acetophenamin around 7:30 & I just got home from work. Any suggestions while we're in the tub would be great! Thanks!

I assume this is a little child as it is common on them this kind of sickness and high temperature. Don't panic and concentrate in what you're doing, this way you won't transmit stress to the child and make things worse. Know that everything will be fine and that you have to doctor the child right now and during the whole night, okay.
Now, for temperature, no, do not add any to what it says.
-If the temperature is High DO NOT USE "WARM" OR HOT WATER...
-What you want is feel the child "uncomfortable" in an "almost cold" water and with a glass or something keep running the water through the child.
-Also this is very good: Get ice, wrapped it in a cloth and place it where the temperature regulates: On Back of the Head and on The Inside of Both Wrists.
Place the ice constantly not now and then; place it and leave it there. Also it'll help if you put a "cold" cloth on top of the head.
Pay Attention: While the ice is on, keep taking the temperature... When it's normal, TAKE THE ICE AWAY...
-If you have an ice mask or something like it, even better while it's a child.

-(Know that temperature will go up and down. What you do not want is a shock by: Temperature Too High -or- Temperature Too Low -or- Fast Temperature Changes.
Keep at it and "constantly check" until the desirable temperature...)-

I never heard of adding 1
