I don't know that I have ever heard smarter. I have read that they tend to be more successful, which bodes well for me.

I'm a very smart 5'8" woman but I don't think it's because I'm tall - education sure helped.
LOL, I'm 6'4 & I'm legally retarded in 7 states, although I haven't taken the test in the other 72 yet.
On average they do tend to perform better on IQ tests and, yes, they do tend to make more money and be more successful. There are a couple of reasons for this.
It's possible that a taller person is tall because they were better nourished when growing up and that would lead to better brain development. Conversely, someone with a protein deficiency as a child could have a stunted brain development.
Taller people seem to have some subtle psychological advantages. For instance, if you're tall, you are perceived as a person of more authority. Taller people tend to have more education and are promoted to management jobs faster than short people.
Nevertheless, in this country, I would think the differences are extremely slight and there is little to no reason why a shorter person can't excel in all areas of life. I wouldn't lose any sleep worrying about it if you're not tall.
