How many steps should a person walk each day to remain healthy?!


Question: I just got a stepometre in a box of Special K and I'm measuring the steps that I take all day. But how many steps are recommended?

We had a contest here at work and it was recommended to do 5,000 steps a day.

The pedometer helped me realize I was only putting in about 3,500 a day, so I parked farther away from my office, intentionally walked to different places, etc...

15 too 30 Min's in the morning and about same in the evening. or you can take it with you at work and strap it round your beautiful waist and see how many steps you do in a day until you get home.
I did mine last year , and i did well over 10,000, steps. i am sure you loOK ok if you thinking too loose some weight than i do not recommend it but if it is for just fun than its a ok

I believe it is 10,000 steps a day. In school we did this contest w/ the students they said a healthy lifstyle was 10,000. If you are just starting out you want to avoid getting hurt so you need to work up slowly. Wear a pedometer each day for a week and see how in your normal lifestyle it is. Keep tabs on your steps daily. Get the average from the total and walk that everyday for the the next week then increase average daily steps each week by 500 per day.
