Patches vs. gum?!

Question: When you quit smoking which (if either) helped you more?

its harder to smoke gum so i would go with the patches

I found that the patch was much more helpful. With the gum I would feel a craving come on and the gum would help alleviate it. With the patch, I never felt nicotine cravings at all.

Good luck, quitting isn't easy but it's worth it.

5 days now on the patch - I've tried the gum & it was nasty, it's not like you get to chew it constantly anyway - it is disgusting.... besides the patch gives you the most lucid, clear & bizarre dreams you will ever have...

EDIT - like the person below me says about your hands - I went out and bought a set of chinese exercise balls, they are awkward to use at first, but after awhile you don't even realize you are using them - there's a link on how to use them

To get me to quit, I would have to be put into a medically induced coma. Patches and gum work if you want them to. They will take care of the cravings, but's its the physical habits of having something in your hand and the oral fixation that present the most problems. Nicotine is tough to beat, but the habits that go with it are just as difficult.

Good luck Jess, let me know how you are doing. Hugs!

I used the Committ lozenge (you can also buy the generic or store brand) I used them for about 2 months with no problems.I smoked for 25 years and now have gone since January of 07 smoke free.I highly recommend them.Good luck!!

Smoke the damn cigarette, that's what I would do, and you know you are too.

As a matter of a fact I'm starting the patch today. I will let you know the outcome,k....

actually.. i quit without using any of those stuff...
