Some people are against the gastric bypass because they feel people are using it when it should only be a last resort. As with any surgery, there is always a risk of complications and death.
People don't oppose gastric bypass surgery so much because it's an "easy" way to lose weight. People who think that are uninformed. It is painful, and it is a very difficult process. Like I mentioned, the opposition comes against those who use this option first, before trying other means like diet and exercise. It should only be considered in extreme situations.
i guess its because they can't control amount they eat, and don't exerise.
because with every surgery there are inherent risks which people often totally ignore. Many times people hear that there is this great surgery to make them slimmer when they could achieve the same result for less money, with less risk, and without taking doctors away from people who REALLY need the surgery simply by making the effort to exercise and eat properly.
That said it is a great surgery that has improved a lot of lives and there are people who really do need it. IF someone really cannot loose weight with diet and exercise and has tried it shouldn't be a problem.
I approve of it. I think many don't only beacuse it's a waste of hospitals resources.
Because then willpower is removed from equation.
