Question: Persistent eye rubbing
Sleep difficulty - see the many causes of sleep difficulty symptoms (e.g. stress, depression, sleep disorders, etc.).
Allergies
Hay fever
Allergic shiners
Dust allergy
Mold allergy
Eczema - i.e. eczema in the skin under the eyes.
Pallor - the paleness of the skin may accentuate the dark rings.
Inherited eye blood vessel condition - dark circles under the eyes run in families.
Aging
Dehydration

Look at your parents, if one of them has them...then it is hereditary.

Dark circles are basically "bruises" caused by the leaking of small capillaries.

tiredness of course

lack of sleep

Lack of sleep is one.

Lack of sleep. My mother always said constipation!!!

Not enough sleep, deppression. Basicly, you get them when you are really tired, and dont have enough sleep. So get some sleep, and it will disappear.

SPENDING A LOT OF TIME ON THE INTERNET SHOULD DO IT!

Actually it is called haemosiderin. Which is what you get when the capillaries around your eyes break down (an eventual normal process that happens to all your cells) and your phagocytes are not good at cleaning up the mess because they are tired from being on the internet all night. Go get some bioflavinoids which is actually a particular Vitamin C and it will gradually clear up. In the future limit your time on the computer and eat more fruit. And stay away from junk food!

Yep, lack of sleep, or not enough of a good rem sleep thru the night. Either get to sleep earlier to get in enough hours, or take a Melatonin to help you have a better sleep.
