Cold weather question?!

Question: Why is it that going out in the cold, even if you're well wrapped up, makes your nose run and makes you want to go for a pee?

Not sure about the pee part...lol. But the cold air drawn in the nostrils causes the capillaries to contract, which is just a pain... the runny nose is caused by impairment of the cillia in your sinuses. These are little cells with tails that stick out, and the tails sweep mucus back, up, back... and so on. When they get cold, they kinda freeze up and mucus slides all over the place.

I think it is because all of the bodily functions speed up in order to keep the body warm.

Sorry I know this won't be picked by the best answer but many people are the opposite. When they come in from the cold after a spell into the warmth they really need to pee as soon as they come back in. I hope someone else can throw some light on your problem. I have just heard of the opposite..

it's not my nose that runs it's my eyes!! I still want to pee though, no matter how many times I go before I leave the house, mad innit!!
