Trace of Blood in Urine?!

Question: The doctor has told me I have a trace of blood in my urine, I have since had urine tests, Ultrascan and blood tests all came back fine. Has anyone had a simular experience or can anyone help with what this maybe? I was told in November and I still have it today...

There is an unlimited number of reasons this can occur.
1) Did you lift something Heavy?
2) Kidney Infection
3) Internal inflammation of (well you know)
4) If you had a growth spurt or took testosterone as a child to help you grow.

My husband went through this and took at least 10 test, and there was no conclusive results, he is fine, and as long as it isn't effecting you and is low, they may never find out what is causing it.
If you go to a urologist ( they will run a battery of test) and tell you if there is anything serious to worry about.

Happened to me when I got punched in the kidney, have you been in a fight ?

a lot of times this can happen after or during a virus, infection or an illness. at least that's what my Dr. told me

you got a lot of choices, but at a small level, you're looking at just a couple. stones, alcohol, and diabetes (ketones).

Hope you enjoyed Xmas...it might have been your last

Emmy's answer is quite good, the most likely answer is infection, but I'd like to add prostate cancer to that list, it's surprisingly common in young adults (18-25), a colleague of mine had it when he was 19 or so. There's nothing you're going to find out here that your doctor won't have already told you though.

PS. avoid urologists if possible, their smallest transurethral endoscope is far too big for comfort and they generally take any excuse to use it; if your doctor refers you, then you should definitely go, but I wouldn't go there just for a second opinion.

r u male or female?

Obvious one but did you do some heavy exercise?
This can sometimes lead to blood in your urine.
Its just your body cleaning itself.

My bet is on a kidney or urinary track infection. Easily cleared with antibiotics.

Haematuria in a male is always taken seriously. I suppose if it followed vigorous exercise it might be ' march haemoglobinaemia'. Most GPs would refer to a haematuria clinic at this point to be safe.
