Always out of breath - why?!

Question: I'm 18, never smoked or been around people that smoke but always feel like I'm out of breath or can't quite breathe in enough air. I don't think it's asthma because I don't have any of the other symptoms. Sometimes it makes me feel quite faint. I never have any energy these days and even talking is tiring.

I eat well and am the right weight for my height and age and get at least 8 hours sleep on a night.

What could be wrong with me?

i dunno maybe your heart rate is lower then usual it could mean you have to get more blood sugar by eating more fruits or maybe you dont exercise enough try running or jogging every day until you can do it for along time without resting then this should get your heart rate up. um if you have any of these side effects go to a doctor.

-Feel dizzy or light-headed.
-Feel short of breath and find it harder to exercise.
-Feel tired.
-Have chest pain or a feeling that your heart is pounding or fluttering (palpitations).
-Feel confused or have trouble concentrating.

there are so many things that could be the cause of this. anemia pnuemonia, blood pressure problems within your lungs. you need to see a dr and fing the cause

chronic fatigue symptoms
MS
over exertion
are you over weight by any chance? if you are, it might be that. if not, then u might have the stuff i mentioned about. google it for more information. I know a doctor who deals with this extensively. let me know if you want to know more via email on my profile.

It does sound like asthma to me. Although you don't have any other symptoms, it could be in the early stages or be a very mild case of asthma. One thing you could try is not drinking ice cold water, it freezes the air pipes and restricts the air flow into your lungs, The main time this important is at night when its cold, your body is warm and the water is cold. so only ever drink room temp water etc

If you have a fire at home, stop using it, the smoke that comes out, even if a combustion fire, will affect an asthmatics ability to breath as the wind pipes restrict and shrink, making it almost impossible to get fresh air in. In some cases of mild asthmatics, they have been known to be able to talk themselves out an attack. They relax, and concentrate on breathing, and the windpipes are then released and breathing returns to normal. In more sever cases, a low dose puffa can be used temporarily to build the lungs back up, and just keep handy for anytime you feel the shortness of breath coming back

You should check this site out. It will let you know everything about asthma. That sounds like one of the symptoms of asthma. Go to the section that says Treatment to Life Style Changes.

if you live in high altitudes, it is common during the winter time.
