The million dollar question... there is no recipe! However, if you can pin it down to what keeps you from being active, there are tools to help you do it. If it is nothing more than motivation, you need a cheerleader. Exercise with a buddy, or find someone who will call you or remind you, that it is time to walk, jog, lift weights, swim, play racquetball, long walks on the beach or whatever. If it is a energy thing, I would do a web search on the symptoms you have and look for some herbal remedies (ginseng, ginkgo biloba, etc). If you have fatigue because you don't sleep well or there is not enough oxygen getting to your brain, herbal drugs can help. If you just are getting bored of whatever you set out to do, use more resistance and less repetition, and alternate often. For instance, a lot of people walk to loose weight and feel more invigorated. Well, in order to lose any calories walking you either end up walking really funny or you have to walk for over an hour. If you do weight training (or any anaerobic exercise), you will build muscle faster and more muscle mass will help you to burn fat faster (less repetition, less time spent). If you need results (Cleaning is very result oriented), set real goals that you can discern and follow a progression. For instance, what is the purpose for being active? To meet new people, see new things, or are you talking about exercise (feeling healthy, strong, loosing weight, smaller belt size, bigger arms, etc). If it is exercise, take baby steps. An unhealthy immediate goal is to lose 10 lbs. People will go in to the gym lift weights, build muscle (muscle is denser than fat or heavier), and then get frustrated and quit because they actually gained weight instead of loosing it. Track health progression instead. If you were, struggling to jog a 12 minute mile before, shoot for a 10 minute mile. If you were able to do 15 sit-ups before, shoot for 25. If you were bench pressing 50 lbs 12 times before, aim for 65 lbs 12 times. There are still plattoes were it seems your not progressing as well, but believe me it is a lot more reliable than watching the weight scale.
