ive been stopped two years now and my god i dont know why i ever started,my hair,my skin,my teeth my house and my fitness are much better,i dont smell like an ash tray and my kids are so proud of me,not to mention all the money i saved, keep going love trust me it will be worth it!! good luck, new year, new start and all that!

Pray about it and keep praying about it until you are delivered from it.

i was on 50 a day and gave up.its the best thing i ever did.DONT BUY ANY MORE!GIVE IT A GOOD FIGHT,first few weeks are the hardest.

I've heard chewing gum helps. :)

try not to start again... if you do the best bit of advice i can give is never give up trying to quit. if it takes another fifty attempts before you quit then at least you have still done it.. good luck

smoking is a bad smelly addiction now im a non smoker but 2 years ago i was just like you needing the fix that i was denying myself but as the days go on the better you feel

please don't go back to smoking prove you are strong

remember you smell really bad as a smoker

Few people stop outright. It's more widely accepted that your biochemistry needs to weaned off an addiction slowly. If you have a very good reason for stopping, for example if you have given your children asthma, then you will be more motivated to stop than someone who just decides to stop for their own health. You need to assert to yourself every day how much you do not want to smoke and why. You are addicted to a drug and so it is bound to be difficult but you should realise that ultimately, you can CHOOSE to stay strong. Removing temptation by staying away from people who smoke will help. Many people find that the simple act of holding something in their hand, like a pencil, helps ease the tension and this is corroborated by physchological evidence. As a trainee hypnotherapist, I would recommend seeing a hypnotist for a few sessions. This seems like a daunting step for some people but however you choose to motivate yourself, self belief is essential. Other people can give up their bad habits and you're stronger than them, right? Postive thinking and self-belief.

I stopped a couple of years back after smoking for 12 straight years from the age of 15!!

For me the best thing I did was find something to replace the ciggies .... when ever I felt like having one, down the pub, watching TV, break at work etc ... I either made sure I had a packet of chewing gum on me, some little sweets or some nuts/seeds.

Try not to go down the sweet street too much, I found myself eating a packet or 2 of opal fruits a day for a week or so, then realised how unhealthy this was too, so change to roasted nuts, and some sun flower seeds.

It worked most times, other times I just had to take my mind off it, or just use some reeeal good will power.

I think it took me about 5 months before I could resist the urge for a ciggy without eating or chewing anything.

Nowadays I still fancy a ciggy every now and then, and to be honest I've had a couple of puffs down the pub and at a friends, but I've never had a full ciggy, and wouldn't ever go back to smoking again as it costs way too much and it made me stink ..... anyone who still smokes ... trust me you 'do' stink !! :o)

Hope some of that helps??

try using patches
