Does this sound wierd? I went to my Dr. yesterday...?!

Question: I have been having a hard time sleeping and my anxiety level is up, probabally cuz my hubby is gone to school for the Army. Anyhow my Dr. said I was looking at this all wrong, he said I should think of all the things I can do while he is gone, that I can't do when he is here. He suggested going out and getting plastered, maybe he was kidding about that, but really I am not sure....Anyhow my hubbys is really laid back, so I can pretty much do anything when he is here, all I can think of to do is stuff that would get me in trouble..........Any ideas... Thanks.

I think your doc was hitting on you and hinting toward you hanging out with him...if he is hot you should go on date with him..that'd make any girl happy. :) :)

I would change Drs. Maybe he was just trying to be funny and get you to think of having some freedom. A glass of wine and a warm bath at bedtime might help you.

Don't take psychological advice from a family practitioner.... see a psychology therapist if you feel the issue is fear and anxiety...

ok your dr was incorrect in telling you that you are looking at it wrong. what you need to do is get to a counselor, someone you can talk to about your feelings. another thing that i myself do and seems to work is i keep a journal of my feelings. i let it all out on paper no matter if i'm mad, sad, worried, happy, whatever my mood i write it all down til i can't write anymore then i seem to feel better. but really you need to get to a counselor to talk out your anxious feelings and have them give you some ideas. your dr gave some ok ideas, but there are ways counselors know of to get you to talk out and then act in a positive way over your feelings.

well I think that you can go out to clubs with your friends and party. You can have your friends come over at your place for a party,There are lots of good stuff to do.

do things for people. doing something nice and out of the ordinary. All that running around plus taking care of 4 little ones is bound to help you sleep.

Well at least you don't have anybody hassling you for s e x!

And you've got something to look forward to!

Why don't you try reading a book in bed at night before you go to sleep. Nobody will complain about the light being on or snacking in bed!

lol
