This could be a few things or a combination of factors. Do you have a fever? Do you have allergies? Both of these may influence the diagnosis. Often headaches associated with cough and a runny nose are indicative of sinus problems/infection. The cough may be due to post nasal drip and the head ache may be due to sinus pressure. Often sinus problems are a manifestation of allergies, other times sinus problems are a result of a viral or bacterial infection. Although fever is not always associated with sinus infections, having one that is not self limiting, that is gone in 2-3 days, may be indicative of a bacterial infection needing antibiotics.

If you are having sinus congestion then several approaches may help. Using nose teapots (neti pots) with saline (salt water) for irrigation help decrease sinus congestion and irritation without medications. This technique has existed for centuries and is equally effective if not better than decongestant medications. Neti pots can be found in many chain pharmacies and stores and are available through the Internet.

If this approach does not work, some find the use of decongestants helpful to drain the sinuses. No matter what approach you take, remember that if you have a persistent fever, if you are feeling continuously poor, and/or if you are feeling worst, seeking care from a health care professional may be advised.

Remember without actually examining you, this information is purely generalized and not a substitute for your health care provider. Sorry, need to cover my butt.

It could be the flu.

Virus, very common. It should go away in a weeks time when you become really sick then your symptons will start to dissappear. :) You can use vicks very cheap buy from local chemist shop and do what it says in instructions and I am sure you will feel bit better.

It's probably just the flu or a bad cold. Do you have a fever? You should get plenty of rest, fluids, and maybe go to the doctor. I just got over something like this, but with a terrible sore throat too, and it stuck around with a steady fever for about a week.

Feel better!
