Do I Have The Flu Or Something?!

Question: I haven't been sick in a LONG time, and before I go out and pay a doctor to tell me something I may have already known, I figured that I'd see what you guys think this could be. I have a deep cough (accompanied with mucus). I always feel cold and if I don't, I get waves of chills (goosebump). I've been trying to drink lots of liquids but that just seems to give me diahhrea. Any ideas about what this can be? It's been going on for a week. I tried to schedule an apointment with my campus health center, but they're going to be full until Tuesday.

Sounds like it...MAYBE

The chills and cough sound like pneumonia.

What is your temperature?

If you drink a lot of liquid without eating, basically you will have diarrhea, especially things like apple juice.

Go on Tuesday =)

i guess yea

the flu is going around i know of 5 people that have it right now.

i think there is a bad flu bug going about at the minute which involves vomiting and diahorrea

if it has been going on for over a week, see your doctor

If you haven't been sick for a long time, this is more the reason to be. You might have the flu, or a fever. Have you gotten your temperature taken yet?
I've never heard of liquids given you diarrhea, but it's important to keep them going in. Try to sweat it out by taking naps. This might break your fever if you have one.

wow! yea guy you def have aids better go get help. ASAP!

The mucus sounds like you have an infection. and the chills mean you have a fever. The flu is usually associated with body aches and pains. Try tylenol EXTREME cold I sware by it. I was sick for a week and once I had a full days dosage in I felt alot better.

I have the EXACT same thing... I have had it for about two or three weeks now... originally it was strep (according to the doctor even though it didn't hurt like strep)... I had the Zpack... but then it didn't go away... so I went back to my doctor and he gave me these stronger penecillan pills...

I would just drink lots of water, stay warm and make an appointment with your doctor... he should help you but take it easy and fruit has helped me feel better.

ooo im sorry you might have ttp which is a rare desease called "thrombotic topenic purpura" my mom had the same thing which was accompanied by mucus and a deep coughing . and i think you should go to a health doctor fast.

tell me if your okay by email okay?

The flu normally has: vomiting, unwilling to eat, and high fever 101-105 is high if its over 105 go to th hospital now. If its high take Tylenol and Motrin Switch them up take one wait two hours take the other. This brings the fever down. Only do this one day or till the fever breaks.

How ever what you described sounds like a cold. So get to liquid Robitussin or Ny Quill. I don't know why but the liquid works better than pills and try to get some rest.
