When I get up I become dizzy and can't see?!

Question: When I get up from sitting on a chair or something I become dizzy and like fainting and I black out and can't see anything for like 10 seconds and then the vision comes back and I go back to normal, it happens so often to the point that every time I get up it happens, rarely it doesn't... Starting to make me worried, why is it happening?

Help is appreciated.

After you sit for awhile, then get up quickly, the blood that is in your legs has a hard time getting to your brain. This is called "postural hypotension" You feel very lighted headed, dizzy and cannot see anything except "fuzzy". Your heart rate increases as it tries to pump the blood literally "uphill" to your brain. When this comes on, you should stop and immediately sit back down or lie down to let your body "equalize" the blood in the system. The get up SLOWLY to avoid this again. As you become more aware of what is going on, you should be better at avoiding it. Good Luck

Well that happens because when you are sitting down for a long time all of the blood in your head relaxes and when you get up it all rushes to your head making you dizzy. That happened to me for a while and sometimes it still happens. I suggest that you be more active and drink lots of water. But If anything gets worse you should see a doctor. If you tell your parents they may give you some aspirin and that might make you feel better.
But it's best to talk to your parents. Unless your parents don't trust you (joking) then go to a school nurse or something like that.
