Fleshy Nosebleeds?!

Question: I've always been a frequent nosebleeder. I sleep at night with a humidfier and I've had my nose cauterized twice in the past. Recently though (more like 3 minutes ago) I just had a long nosebleed that ended with the excretion of this blood-filled, gooey, fleshy mass... It's not the first time, but I still wonder. What is it? Is it normal? And do I need to see my doctor (who just saw 3 hrs ago)?

u might wanna see a doctor..... i have nosebleeds all the time and once i passed out from losing so much blood... also drink lots of orangejuice it supposedly helps with blood loss

Have you seen a ear, nose, and throat specialist?

These doctors are particularly knowledgeable about nose problems.

I've had many nosebleeds but nothing like you describe! It sounds like it might be coming from further back, perhaps from your sinuses.I feel you should ask your family physician to refer you to a specialist in that field.I hope you do and get helpful treatment to either end or control the problem.

Citrus bioflavonoids will strengthen your weak blood vessels and this is a much better option than cauterisation for the third time.

the gooey stuff is your blood trying to clot up to stop the bleeding. i used to have nosebleeds like this a few times a week as a child and now my 5yr old does. it's nothing to worry about as long as they are not very large {like you have to actually pull them out of your nose}then i would talk to a doctor. so don't let it worry you.
