Cry for help - Suicide?!

Question: I'm 15 & I suffer from a mood disorder/severe depression & IBS (diagnosed 4yrs ago). I'm also severely bulimic. I see a therapist weekly, & I've had suicide thoughts and attempts before, but recently I've been seriously considering suicide, like planning it down to the last detail. Please dont try & talk me out of it btw.

I want to do it, but my best friend (who knows about everything) said that maybe if I expressed just how serious I am to my therapist, I could possibly be admitted to a psych ward or something, I dont really know about these things, but for her, I want to investigate. She also thought that if I was, it would help most of my problem is home and school life, so getting away from that might help.

I wondered then if they would do this? Obviously it would depend on the circumstances, but does it happen? Can anyone give me some more information please? This is my last chance to try & fix my life because if they wont admit me to a ward, I'll give up. Please help me.

Your friend is right, if you let your therapist know, they may very well admit you to a mental health program. (It is called a baker act, if you decide you will not go own your own)

That being said, you have to be completely honest with your therapist, even if it something that you do not want to bring up, help and healing can only stop happening when you cut through the B.S. Most kids that are admitted to the programs can stay in them for 3 months or so.You will do group therapy. individual therapy, your schools work, OT,RT, etc...

When you are depressed your mind is thinking through a fog, or a pair of dirty glasses so to speak. Your reality is not the same as other people's and your mind creates sadness, despair and a general nothing really matters anyways. This where cognitive therapy and drugs come into play, it helps hit the reset button. And gives you the tools to stop thinking through your dirty glasses.

My friend has this same condition i will answer your question so he can find it later...

Appreciate Everything. Expect nothing. Live for a smile.

You should be able to admit yourself to the psych ward. Check with your local hospital. Talk to your parents about it. Their health insurance should pay for most of it.

I won't try to talk you out of it. Just try everything else you can think of before you commit suicide, because once you do it you can't take it back. The suicide option is always there but if you take it, all your other options are gone and so are you.

If you want to go to a psych ward, you should tell you therapist that.

sorry to be rude but ffs smile girl YOU and only YOU make youre life what it is. stop being sorry for youreself

I was in rehab once and there was a ward for teens that had emotional problems and believe me when I say that it really helps people. Suicide is not the answer and I think that checking into a facility is a great idea and you should definitely get some professional help where you stay there and are not sent immediately back into the environment that is causing your problems.

The average stay at the place that I went was 1-2 weeks but if a patient is in really bad condition then they will keep you longer.

I know you want help or you would not be asking. Most any doctor will help you. There are alot of different medications for all your problems. If you decide to take your life, consider the fact that you may go to hell. I think it is a selfish thing to take your own life because the ones who really care will be left behind to suffer with this. Is that what you want? Are you a selfish person? Think about what this will do to your family and the ones who loves you. I am sure you are a great person and if you got the right help you will find yourself happy in a month or less. Then you would have killed yourself for nothing. Kids your age go through this alot but always finds help to get their life straight. A person who finds no satisfaction in himself will seek for it in vain elsewhere. The pass to hell is paved with good intentions. Good luck and PRAY.

your question is really well worded for a 15yr old you know, you're probably a smart girl, dont give up, but yes speak to your therapist about what you just asked us

yes going to a ward may help it may give you a break from your home situation etc.

i have many friends who have done it ( suicide) they are not here anymore..no more options for them. once you do the deed that is it..over and done with. and believe me it affects many people in different ways. but you won't know cos your not here. i know people have done it for revenge too and that wasn't a great idea..didn't get the outcome they wanted..cos how would they know..they aren't here anymore to see it!

sounds like maybe if you go to the ward..you will get a new therapist...that might be able to help you better than the one you have even. as sorry to say ..but if your current therapist doesn't know where you are at. then time to get a new one perhaps.

sometimes ..esp when we are younger we dont' have many options..we can't just *get over things*....and make things change....lack of money and choices doesnt' help. if you trust your therapist tell them what is happening and even how you came here and asked the questions.

good luck with it all..i hope it all works out well for you.

If you are feeling suicidal now, please stop long enough to read this. It will only take about five minutes. I do not want to talk you out of your bad feelings. I am not a therapist or other mental health professional - only someone who knows what it is like to be in pain.

I don
