What are some good ways to get rid of nervousness?!
Question: * Breathe deeply. Take long, slow breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
* Listen to music.
* Chew gum.
* Read a few pages from a book to distract yourself from your nervousness.
* Toss a ball around, squeeze a stress ball or a small piece of modeling clay, fiddle with a paper clip - something physical to distract yourself.
* I would suggest not talking to other people who are also nervous, like fellow students writing a test - it will just increase your nervous energy!
* Tell yourself that you're not nervous, you're *excited.* (This is what I do, and it works well for me.) Having extra energy before a presentation, test, etc. isn't a bad thing - it can help you focus and work extra hard. As long as you're not letting that energy turn into something negative - like telling yourself it's hopeless - it can help you get through.
I hope some of these ideas work for you. Good luck!
