Bad stomach ache... possible IBS?!

Question: For the past couple of days I've been having bad stomach aches... burning sensations, gurgling, gas, etc. I've been pooping about once a day and when I do it's diarrhea and this morning it was a bit greenish. This isn't the first time this has happened... it usually happens when I'm at school (college) but this time the stomach pain is really bad and only goes away very briefly.

Is this IBS? What else could it be? Diet suggestions? Will apple juice soothe my stomach ache?

You'd have to see a doctor for a diagnosis. It could be IBS, especially if it's been recurring or it could be some type of bacterial of viral infection.
Though most IBS sufferers will tell you that during an attack they spend a lot more time in the bathroom.
Drink plenty of fluids and stick to a mild, bland diet like the BRAT (bananas, rice applesauce and toast) diet and wash your hands frequently. Also - get yourself to a doctor.

I am an IBS sufferer and yes you have all the symptoms. Not sure about the green tho, get that checked. Apple juice will be the WORST thing you can drink with IBS.

I would go see the doctor. In the meantime I would write down all the symptoms you've been experiencing, when you're experiencing them and what you've been eating. Also the fact that you're pretty much experiencing them at school might be a telling sign that maybe it's related to anxiety. So it may be IBS but you don't know that. So just go to your doctor and let them evaluate the situation.

It sounds similar to what I had. Mine was due to stress. You might want to get checked out just be be safe. They tested to make sure I didn't have an ulcer...just be careful :)

na not really

I'd recommend seeing a doctor, when possible.
Don't eat anything too heavy. DRINK LOTS OF WATER.(Crackers, soup etc) are fine.
Your situation doesn't sound to good.
It may also be a bowl, I was amazed to hear that bowels can be as high as your kidney.
But, hopefully this won't happen.
Good Luck!

maybe it is IBS. i think i have it and it sucks when i'm at schools because ever since first grade( jr. in h.s.) i haven't been able to go in the bathrooms at school...or anywhere with people in it. i mean urinals are okay but whatever..anyways
buy yourself a heating pad. it works wonders, seriously.
maybe it is diet-related. some say cheese makes you constipated, but sometimes cheese has theopposite effect. research IBS diets. it's pretty important if you have this problem to go to any store and go into the aisle that sells things for stomach/ibs/lactose supplements and all that...you can actually buy chewables from maalox and peptobismal. if you buy the chewables just take two of them when you start to have stomach problems. don't you hate it when you're in public and you have to go! i hope you feel better. do you go away to college or is it in your town/city? if it is..just go to the doctor. good luck
