What could cause?!

Question: A 16 year old girl to suddenly have a shooting pain in the heart area, making it feel as though her heart stopped and started suddenly.
She's a healthy weight, but does have some health problems due to a weak immune system and doesn't have any history of heart problems except for this, which she says has happened two or three times before.

She's refusing to see a doctor (which unfortunatly is her right...) so does anyone have any ideas of what it might be?
I'm concerned it could be a small heart attack.

It could be a heart attack. Could also be an arrythmia - when the heart actually does miss a beat or two before starting again into regular rhythm. Or could be a congestive heart problem, which is fluid building up around the heart & interfering with the beating. Could also be an aneurism, or possibly an aortic spasm.

Any of these are dangerous and could cost her life. A doctor needs to be consulted about the pains - she needs to have her heart & chest checked.

Hospital Now. My sister in law is a top Cardio nurse. Take her to hospital now!

it could be heartburn. i would get it so bad when i was a teenager, that i thought i had heart problems. give her something for heartburn if you can convince her to take it. my pain was the same shooting pain you are talking about. as long as she's not having trouble breathing, no tingling or weakness, no nausea, i would just watch her closely.
