Face it, most people are forgotten after some time following thier death. You have to have done something really special for your name to live on. Take Jesus Christ or Elvis Presley, those two names have been around despite the deaths. However, I believe that Elvis' name is now slowly fading to history.

Usually, after all the family, friends, enemies have died away, then your name/memory will too.

Even greats who do big things and are remembered through history I believe will eventually be forgotten. It's just a matter of time in my opinion.

As far as being remembered goes, why is it so important beyond those that you love? Even then, why is it so important? After all, eventually we will all be forgotten, including Jesus Christ! Some day one of 2 things will happen, 1) the earth will come too close to the sun and will burn up, 2) the sun will use up the last of it's fuel and die out - either case, life on earth will surely end then and all will be forgotten.

Somebody will remember you because we all have a prupos3e in this life but really I don't think you can just go nowhere you can go to heaven or hell but that's my belief.Don't be sad .If you really don't believe in life after death then just live your life to it's fullest.

:)

Well I think someone will remember your unique use of the word member.

If you want to be remembered leave some sort of a legacy like a good book or a hit song or an invention.

Well, you have to have friends and family that'll remember you. That should be good enough. And if you don't believe in life after death, live it up buddy. If there is nothing after this, then who cares. You won't know, i won't know, noone will know. We won't exist anymore. Plain and simple.

Agree with the first reply, if noone actually will remember you - why not take the chance to live life to the fullest? Go go bungyjumping! Try out new things, dress in obscure hippie colours and make people smile when they see you shine with the clothes everyday. Yeah, I'm going on about random things ;)

But on the more serious side I'll always remember my friends and relatives that has died but I only tend to think of all the good times we had.

@Diesel (two replies below) -> Well, I think he actually uses common sense. ;-)

Living just for the sake of living is really quite nice as you will continue to discover in your own life. We don't know for certain what happens to us after we die. Heaven? The abode of the gods? Nirvana? The bosom of Abraham? Nothing? We just don't know. Even so, we can be reasonably sure that people will remember us after we die.

so YOU personally decided the idea of a heaven or hell doesn't exist, or something else after life, or you simply know for a fact?

nothing wouldn't be so bad and i don't thing we were created to suffer for eternity, try to remember we are all in the same boat. have no regrets and in the end we are all just cosmic dust.
